How to Apply Floor Marking Tape?
To ensure the floor marking tape is secure and doesn’t easily peel off, I prepared this step-by-step floor tape installation guide for you.
- Plan out the position of the tape. Plan out the color, type, width, and placement of the floor marking tape according to your workplace’s safety regulations. If you are unsure, refer to the relevant guidelines of the 5S marking system.
- Clean the floor surface. Remove dust, dirt, water and oil stains from the floor, ensuring the surface is dry and clean so that the tape can adhere firmly to the floor.
- Apply the floor marking tape. - Use heat gun, putty, utility knife, adhesive remover and clean rags as your tool.
- Preheat the heat gun to five degrees and heat it over the tape for a few minutes to soften it.
- Try to slowly peel the tape off, starting from one corner and pulling at small angles. Continue until all the tape is removed.
- Use a plastic scraper or putty knife to remove any remaining adhesive. You can continue to use the heat gun to make scraping easier.
- Apply adhesive remover and let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it clean with a cloth.
- Clean the area until the floor is completely dry.
