Tempered Glass VS Semi-tempered Glass
Tempered Glass: after heated to about 600-650℃, the glass is quenched and cooled with strong blast of cool air, and the surface layer forms strong compressive stress. The tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger than the ordinary glass and can withstand temperature changes of about 200-300℃. It is also known as a kind of safety glass because it shatters into many small and blunt particles after rupture. Tempered glass is widely used as car windows, shower doors, road studs and screen protectors.
Semi-tempered Glass: also known as heat-strengthened glass, with slower cooling process and low surface stress, the semi-tempered glass is 2-3 times stronger than the ordinary glass and can withstand a temperature difference of about 75℃. It breaks into sharp-edged and radial fragments, which is not as safe as tempered glass.
