Reflective sheeting manufacturing is a complicated process and involves precise optical engineering to achieve retroreflective, using various materials(glass beads, encapsulated lenses, or micro prisms) to embed in a PVC/PET/PMMA base sheeting layer.
Reflective sheeting workshop contains coating lines(extrusion coaters, gravure roll coaters, and knife over roll coaters), microprism sheeting machines(micro-embossing machines, UV-curing equipment), glass bead sheeting systems, lamination lines and sliptting machine.
Workflow of embossing: film preparation – preheating – micro-embossing – rapid cooling – UV curing – demolding. The production process is very complicated and each steps must follow ISO 9001 quality control system standard and in-house quality control inspection.
Reflective sheeting lamination is a critical bonding stage and has a good impact on their performance, durability, and adhesion. There are two different laminations: glass bead sheeting and microprismatic sheeting; processing temperatures are different.
