Road Marking Paints by Type
Made of resin, titanium dioxide, glass beads, and combination ratio varies from standards, heating temperature 150℃ to 220℃.
Also called MMA (Methyl Methacrylate), composed of two parts, pigmented resin and catalyst, paint under lower temperatures for durable use.
Made of oil-based paint, uses a solvent as carrier to bind pigments and resins together, durable, resists weather, chemicals, and has a smooth surface.
Smooth surface, easy and quick to paint, also known as solvent-based traffic marking paints, spray under normal temperatures, with multiple colors for your options.
Known as water-based traffic paint, with extreme adhesion to concrete and asphalt, has excellent chemical and dirt resistance, easy drying and durability, and VOC requirements.
Composed of two-part epoxy resin A and B, it has durability, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and adhesion. Widely used indoors and outdoors.
Fit for asphalt, tarmac, concrete, brick, masonry, and porous surfaces, slip resistance for pedestrians, and UV-resistance.
Used for concrete, weathered tarmac, asphalt, brick, and paving in parking lots, roads, runways, warehouses, and factories for line marking.
Composed of thermoplastic paint with adhesive tape backing and pre-cut, easy to install, used for temporary markings or logos on the ground.
Glow in the dark road & line marking paints, manufactured by mixing fluorescent powder and water-based paint, yellow-green color.
Liquid thermoplastic primer 16KG, custom label and printing for your brand, applied for any surfaces and operation temperature range from 0 – 40°C.
Made of luminous powder and paint, continuous luminous time over 10 hours, application method: spray, available colors: yellow-green and blue-green.
- Road Marking Paint Material & Composition
- Standards & Certifications
Road marking paints produced by JACKWIN usually consist of the following five ingredients: resin, pigment, filler, reflective glass beads, and other additives.
1. Resin
Different types of our road marking paints use different types of resins. The following are the types of resins we commonly use:
- Thermoplastic resin: It has the characteristics of quick drying and durability. It softens when exposed to high temperatures and hardens when exposed to cold, so it is easy to stick to the road surface.
- Alkyd resin: Natural and environmentally friendly material, derived from natural oils, with the advantages of good toughness and environmental protection.
- Hydrocarbon resin: Durable and cost-effective.
- Epoxy resin: Good adhesion and durability, it is also one of the materials used for road stud installation.
- Acrylic resin: The advantages are wide application range, quick drying and durability.
2. Pigment
In order to make road markings have better visibility at night, we usually add reflective pigments, such as glass beads, to enhance visibility at night or in low light conditions.
- Titanium dioxide (TiO2): Opaque, good brightness, is the main pigment of white road marking paint.
- Yellow pigment: Adding organic yellow pigment has high temperature resistance and UV resistance, and is not easy to age.
- Binder: Its function is to bind the pigment particles together and spray them on the road surface together with the paint. Common binder materials include acrylic, epoxy resin and thermoplastic resin.
- Solvent: It promotes more uniform mixing of the paint, strengthens viscosity and accelerates drying.
3. Filler
- Calcium carbonate: It helps to control viscosity, improve stability and reduce costs. Common natural mineral plants include calcium stone, limestone, shells, keels, seaweed and phosphate rock.
- Talc and silica: These fillers increase the density of the paint, so that the paint sinks faster and increases wear resistance.
- Glass powder: It can improve the reflective effect.
4. Reflective glass beads
It has the characteristics of refraction and retroreflection, so at night, when the headlights shine on the glass beads, they will reflect to the driver’s eyes, increasing night visibility.
5. Other additives
- Plasticizer: prevents paint from cracking, especially in low-temperature weather.
- Antioxidant: enhances anti-ultraviolet and anti-aging effects.
- Anti-sticking agent: mainly prevents sticking to containers and agglomeration during storage.
Our traffic paints are compliant with international standards and local regulations as follows:
- European Standards (EN):
Covering EN 1436, EN 1824, EN 1871, and EN 13197, these standards are widely used in European markets across various aspects of road marking materials. - British Standard (BS 3262):
Referring to thermoplastic road marking materials and covering the UK market or some related countries. - AASHTO M249:
Referring to thermoplastic road marking materials in the United States and Canada. - Nordic Certification System:
Referring to road marking materials used in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden for the test standard.
